Presentation “Crossroads of the Great Silk Road: Uzbekistan-history, culture and traditions” at the Faculty of Arts and Sciences of Maastricht University

The opening ceremony of the exhibition entitled “Crossroads of the Great Silk Road: Uzbekistan-history, culture and traditions” was held in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences of Maastricht University in Netherlands on 23 November, 2006. This exhibition comprised works of master of Uzbek painting A.Boybekov.

The exhibition was organized in close cooperation with the Faculty of Arts and Sciences of Maastricht University and Caravan Cultura Foundation.

During the opening ceremony participants got acquainted with history of statehood of Uzbekistan, which for centuries has been one of the cradles of world civilization serving as a connecting link on the Great Silk Road, the place of contiguity and active trade, economic and spiritual cooperation between East and West.

The professors and students from Maastricht University, representatives of academic and scientific circles of the Province of Maastricht participated at the opening ceremony.

The film entitled “The Sunny country with Great Future” about the efforts of Uzbekistan aimed at revival of spiritual, cultural and scientific heritage of Uzbek people and modern development of Uzbekistan during the years of Independence was demonstrated at the event.
