Briefing on “Inter-confessional Harmony in the Republic of Uzbekistan”

On February 8, 2008 the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Brussels organized a briefing entitled “Inter-confessional Harmony in the Republic of Uzbekistan”.
The briefing has been organized to inform political and public circles of Belgium, representatives of EU and European Parliament with Republic’s achievements in the sphere of providing religious freedoms and inter-faith harmony.
The briefing was attended by the representatives of official, social and political, business circles of Belgium, EU and European Parliament, as well as diplomatic missions accredited in Brussels and media.
During the briefing participants were informed about the religions practice in Uzbekistan, religious organizations, and as well as with Republic’s achievements in the sphere of providing religious freedoms and inter-faith harmony. The special attention of participants has been attending to the role of Uzbekistan in development of Islamic civilization, the contribution of the Uzbek thinkers and scientists into the formation and improvement of the Islamic right and culture.
The film entitled “Tashkent is a capital of Islamic Culture” has been demonstrated at the event.
The briefing was positively responded and highly appraised by the representatives of official and expert circles of Belgium and EU, representatives of diplomatic missions of foreign countries.
