“ASSALOM QUYOSH” ENSEMBLE TAKES PART
IN THE FOLKLORE FESTIVAL IN BELGIUM
International Folklore Festival held in city of Saint-Ghislain of Belgium from 28 May till 8 June. Groups from Spain, Italy, Belgium, Macedonia, Russia, Ukraine, Paraguay, Peru, Philippines, Kenya as well as Uzbekistan’s dancing ensemble “Assalom Quyosh” (Good morning, Sun) led by Ms. Mubarak Mirzaeva took part in the festival.
Uzbek dancers arrived in Belgium long before the festival’s inauguration. Invited by the International folklore festivals organization “Assalom, Quyosh” presented its concert programs in a number of Belgian and French cities. More than 15 thousand people attended Uzbek group’s show. According to the music experts, “Assalom, Quyosh” has been recognized as o¬ne of the best folklore groups, presented at Saint-Ghislain festival.
The Day of Uzbekistan and presentation of social-economic and cultural potential of the country was held within framework of the festival. Mr. Claude Durieux, the Governor of Hainaut province, Mr. Freddy Deghilage, the Burgomaster of Saint-Ghislain city, as well as Belgian experts, businessmen, foreign diplomats and journalists attended the presentation.
Mr. Freddy Deghilage said at the presentation that the event was a great opportunity for his compatriots to get acquainted with Uzbek history, economy and culture.
The President of International Folklore Arts festival Daniel Coustry noted that Uzbek dancers fascinated and won the hearts and sympathy of their viewers.
Speaking at the presentation, Mr. Vladimir Norov, the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Belgium, noted about the possibilities of the development of the mutually beneficial cooperation between Uzbekistan and Belgium in the spheres of economics, education, culture and tourism. The documentary on history, culture and achievements of Uzbekistan during the years of Independence was presented at the event.
